halloween

Halloween is supposed to be a happy holiday where kids dress up in costumes and have a good time. Not for 12 year old T.J. Darrisaw. Dressed up as a robber for halloween he went out trick or treating like any normal kid would. The night was going good and normal up until he showed up at 22 year old Quentin Patrick's door step. One the man came to the door he was shocked, and this ex convict thought that he was being robbed. As a reaction to the situations, he pulled a gun from his house and gunned down the innocent 12 year old. Police arrived minutes later and the man was arrested and awaiting trial.

gay marraige

Just a few days ago, Connecticut was third behind Massachusettes and California to legalize gay marraige. Before they had actually made same sex marraige legal, they had a low that allowed homo's to have all of the same rights as straight people, with regards to marraige. The name of the was the Civil Union Bill. this is a major deal bause gay marraige is becoming more and more popular throughout the United States and all over the world. Although gay marraige is still illegal in 46 states, this is a small step towards a huge goal.

space elevator

NASA officials in London, England have come up with a plan to construct an elevator that can take humans into orbit. The idea is that they can build and elevator from earth into outer space. Scientists are even saying that this may be possible within our lifetimes. They say that this elevator would hypothetically be able to take people to a hight witch would be equal to going to the one-hundreth-thousandth floor of a building. Although construction will not start for a very long time, officials believe that this is well within possible limits.

presidential election

Tonight the 2008-2009 United States Presidential election debate is taking place at the University of Mississippi. These candidates will be discussing economic, foreign policy, warfare, and environmental issues that are problems today. During this debate the candidates will most likely not be as focused on the problem at hand, which would be foreign policy because it is thought that they wish to discuss the economic problems. This was a bad time for the presidential debate because both of the candidates will be disussing different issues.

middle east

As of right now I think that the war is almost pointless. It seems to me that in the past few years nothing has changed for the better over in the middle east, and it doesnt seem like anything will change for the better anytime soon. Currently I think that American involvement in the middle east is not needed. I think this because nothing is happening that will benefit anyone in anyway. Gas prices are skyrocketing and thousands of people are being killed for practically no reason at all. In the next five years I think that America will eventually pull out of the middle east, and have some sort of treaty worked out between the U.S. and the middle east, atleast I hope it works out that way.

Iraq war

On September 3, 2008 United States troops invaded a small town on the boarder of Pakistan and Aphganistan. The site that was attacked was a known spot for Al-Queta members. This was the first recoreded ground attack in Pakistan by U.S. troops. Although that the total number of casualties is unclear, this goes to show that even though the war was declared over almost 4 years ago, the U.S. still has their hands full with terrorism and Al-Queta. It is expected that there will be much more confusion as time goes on especially because of the upcoming presidential election.

first blog

Hey, whats up? Since I have nothing interesting to blog about I guess ill just talk about my first week at college. So far there is a lot of things that I love about college but also some things that i dont like. First off it is a completely different lifestyle now that I do not live at home anymore, although I only live a half hour away it still makes the difference. My favorite part about living on my own is the fact that I have complete freedom, there is no one to tell me what to do or when to do it. I love meeting new people and trying out new things. Some of the things that I do not like about college is the fact that I live in the new South Hall and i have to walk across campus to get anywhere, whether it is to eat at the caffeteria or go to class. Thats all I have to say right now hopefully next time ill have something more intersting.
